How many singles are released per year?

Does anyone know where I could find this information? Specifically, I want to know how many songs are released as singles per year, for the past 60 years or so. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    you may be able to find information about national recording acts by getting in contact with the RIAA. However, you’re not going to be able to find a 100% accurate number for the amount of songs released as singles because it is impossible to track what is going on with every unsigned act that releases singles in their local area. To do this would be like trying to find out a total number of songs that have been recorded period in a year. (which would also be impossible to do since you’d only be able to get logs of hours spent in recording studios, not any stats on home studios.)
