How are people who do not have a yahoo personals profile able to contact me?

I ask this question because men will contact me using my yahoo instant messenger ID but yet they do not have a personals profile. On the personals site you can’t contact someone unless you are a paid subscriber. There must be some work around that they are using. I’m curious as to what it is.

They don’t have to have their id visible. If your im id is in the yahoo community database they are just trolling the community database.
