are dance classes only ways to meet singles?

my BF and I live in different states for now due to work. We’ve talked many times about taking ballroom dancing but he suddenly decided to go ahead and begin. If he’s going alone, won’t it seem that he is there TO meet single women there? I don’t believe he is but I don’t think one should get involved in something as intimate as dancing,especially since he knows I am upset about it.
